INTB-203 International Modules 0 optional course 60 class hours (= 45 clock hours) over a 15-week period.The total student study time is 150 hours (equivalent to 5 ECTS credits).There are therefore 105 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation. Dr. Julia Frisch jfr Dr. Julia Frisch jfr lecture/exercise Tina Flauder, M.A. tfl lecture/exercise After successfully completing this module, students will: • have acquired initial knowledge of German as a foreign language (beginners) or have extended their German knowledge on the topic of job applications and job interviews (advanced) • have acquired basic knowledge for communication in everyday life • be able to explain basic concepts such as culture, communication and stereotypes • be able to recognize and name fundamental differences in job application and team cultures from their own environment and the German working world • be able to create simple job application documents themselves • have gained insights into current research topics from Business and Engineering School The Summer School takes place over a period of 3 weeks and covers the following topics: • "German as a Foreign Language” intensive course: 30 hours. Topics include small talk, simple everyday conversation, basic correspondence, and, depending on the level of the course, work-related vocabulary. • “Competences and Knowledge for Working and Living in Germany” course: 12 hours; held in English. Introduction to culture and communication, foreign perceptions and stereotypes, as well as work and team cultures in Germany • Introductory lectures from the fields of economics and engineering: 18 hours; held in English. The module comprises a total of 60 teaching hours over the course of three weeks. Participants will be provided with the course materials.
