After successfully completing this module, students will be familiar with important methods for managing a project and will be able to explain them.

Brainstorming methods; methods for promoting team building; goals and goal setting; motivators; hygiene factors; leadership styles and their appropriateness; techniques and methods of moderation, discussion and negotiation, active I-message, passive You-message, negotiating, encountering killer phrases; conflict management; communication levels, non-verbal communication, body language; giving and receiving feedback; recognizing, evaluating and solving conflicts; personnel discussions; modern management tasks; leading discussions; time management; cost management; dealing with customers, understanding customer wishes
Project types, turnkey plant construction, general contractors, consortia with joint and several liability, joint ventures, operator models, BOT, BOOT, PPP projects; project phases, planning phases, execution, commissioning, completion; preparing offers, identifying, stimulating and evaluating customer requirements, determining costs, pricing;
Project financing, forfaiting; performance bonds, insurances, liability, warranty, penalties; rectification, reduction, conversion; tenders, their limits and rules: VOB (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen), VOL (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Leistungen), HOAI (Honorarordnung für Architekten und Ingenieure), international tenders, performance bond, letter of credit, bank guarantee; export financing and its coverage; roles of planning engineers, plant constructors, customers and operators
